converting a outboard driven boat to inboard v8?

i have a aprox 15-16 foot fibreglass ski boat with a 70 evinrude and had tossed up the idea of removing the outboard and replacing it with a inboard v8.
first of all is such a conversion possible at all, what type of mods would be necessary keeping structual integrity in mind. has any one taken on such a job if so i would be interested in finding out more.
the boat itself appears structurly sound. the motor seems to need a good tune up but runs ok.
the second question i have is what steps do i take to see why the motor seems to b stuck in forward gear.. ie, starts and runs fine, throttles up and down ok, controlls are a bit stiff but seem ok but when i shift from nuturl into forwarsd or reverse makes no difference. no sounds heard that would indicate that its going in or out of gear.
perhaps i should just use it for target practice.. thanks.

hi ..are less you just have to have a inboard ..forget it iv,e done a few don,t. waste… your money ..don,t ! cost will blow u away…….. 22 years boatbuilder
