If all you ever do in your speed boat, power boat or motor boat is drive it, you will probably get bored with it after a while. Most people use their speed boat for a reason. They either go fishing or use it to tow inflatables, wakeboarders, waterskiers or kneeboarders.
All this equipment can be very expensive if you buy it new. But just as you can buy a pre-owned speed boat, you can also buy pre-owned accessories and equipment.
As well as buying my pre-owned speed boats on eBay, I also bought a second-hand wakeboard, a second-hand towable inflatable, second-hand buoyancy aids (for just a few bucks each), a second-hand ski pole and even an old plastic tank that I could fill with water to run the boat engine in when out of the water. (As the engine is water-cooled it must be in water when running or it will overheat).
I even bought a job-lot of second-hand boating gear on eBay. It consisted of two pairs of waterskis, two pairs of wooden paddles, several tow ropes and handles, a variety of different sized anchors, several different sized life jackets, three different sized propellers, half a dozen fenders and a ship to shore radio!
I didn’t really need any of these apart from a tow rope (and the paddles came in handy when our engine stalled and wouldn’t restart!) But it was very cheap and I got a bit carried away! The person selling this job-lot wanted to clear some space in their garage. It’s now cluttering up my garage!
The point is, whatever you use your speed boat for, all the equipment and accessories you need can be obtained very affordably if you don’t mind buying it pre-owned.
